
This well-known international hotelier had a problem that is, most likely, prevalent at many hospitality and travel industry companies. Their customers in China were being forced to enter their information in English if they wanted to join their famous loyalty program. It was very confusing for the customer, and may have been a deterrent to getting more customers to sign up for the program’s benefits.
They asked LinguaSys to provide a solution. As a company built on customer service and satisfaction, LinguaSys did a lot more than just sell them software licenses. We had our Asian language specialist sit down with them and go over the “rules” of Chinese names, when to use plain transliteration and when to use translation. Carabao technology can do both, and LinguaSys wanted to give the client the best possible solution. We helped them create a workflow integrated into their system using our enterprise web services interface so that clients in China can enter their information in Chinese, and when they arrive, for example, at their hotel in Germany, the customer service people will know how to address them, without having to know how to read Chinese characters.
